Implementation Services

Before implementing ledsSuite, Zuercher Technologies offers an array of professional services to help prepare the entire agency.  The services are tailored to specifically meet each agency’s unique needs.

Project Management

project managementBeginning at project inception, a dedicated Zuercher  Technologies  project  manager works closely with each agency as a single point of contact throughout  implementation of the ledsSuite system. Project managers develop  an  implementation  schedule and  act  as  liaison  between  the  agency and Zuercher Technologies’ project team to  ensure  that  all  milestones  proceed according to schedule. They conduct weekly status meetings to provide the agency with progress  reports  and  to  communicate information to involved parties.

The project team visits all areas of a site and meets with key agency personnel to attain  a  comprehensive  understanding of  the  agency’s  operational  needs  and business  rules.  They  observe  daily operations firsthand and identify how the ledsSuite system would best be configured to match and enhance workflow. Using this  knowledge,  they  train  the  system administrators  on  configuration  options and code table setup, ensuring that the ledsSuite system is optimally configured to
meet each agency’s needs.

Implementation

After the project team has made thorough observations  and  recommendations, Zuercher  Technologies’  skilled  technical staff  configures  the  ledsSuite  servers, prepares  hardware  for  installation,  and converts data from legacy systems. They also  develop  and  deploy  all  needed state  and  third-party  interfaces  using a  standardized  methodology  based  on ledsSuite’s universal interface engine.

While the technical staff is preparing the ledsSuite system, the project manager acts as the primary point of communication between the agency and the technical staff.   This ensures that any questions that arise are quickly answered and helps coordinate the system acceptance process. 

Training

TrainingZuercher  Technologies  offers  agencies  a choice of formats for end user training including complete end user training and a train the trainer option. Trainers adjust these standard formats to accommodate any special training needs or preferences each agency may have.

System Admin Training

Training begins with system administrator training conducted by the project team.  They  use  their  familiarity  with  each agency’s operational needs to teach and guide system administrators in configuring the  ledsSuite  system,  setting  up  and maintaining code tables, managing users and user rights, and other options.

Complete End-User Training

Complete end user training is the most commonly  chosen  training  format.  The project team uses knowledge of the agency gained  through  their  time  on  site  and system administrator training to help the trainer plan end user training that is highly tailored to each agency’s procedures and needs. This ensures that users are trained not  just  on  what  the  ledsSuite  system can do, but on how they actually use it to perform their daily tasks.

Trainers conduct specialized courses for each of the agency’s user groups, such as dispatchers or officers, that are focused on the features of the software relevant to their role.  The content that is covered in  each  course  is  specifically  tailored for each agency to include all features and functionality that is used by that group. Courses range in length based on the scope of software functionality to  be  used.    Zuercher  Technologies provides all needed training materials including reference guides and scenario worksheets.

Each course is divided into a classroom style segment and a hands-on segment. The classroom style segment includes an introduction to the overall integrated system and a detailed demonstration of features and functions relevant to that group’s job duties. The hands-on segment allows  each  user  the  opportunity  to practice using the ledsSuite system in realistic situations appropriate to their job duties. Class sizes are limited in order to allow each person the opportunity to ask questions and gain sufficient hands-on experience.

Train the Trainer

Should an agency instead choose a train the trainer format, Zuercher Technologies trainers conducts the above-described training  sessions  to  provide  in-depth, agency-specific training on the ledsSuite software  to  small,  carefully  selected groups of users who will then train the remaining agency staff. These courses are very similar in format to end user training courses but go even further in-depth so that agency trainers are well prepared to conduct training and are able to assist others once the ledsSuite system is live. Zuercher Technologies also offers further training after implementation for new staff or those needing refresher training

Go Live Support

Zuercher Technologies staff is on site at each agency when the ledsSuite system goes live to ensure a smooth transition.   Project  managers  or  trainers  provide knowledgeable answers to any questions that arise and refresh users on the skills gained during training courses. This go live support helps staff to confidently perform their job duties using ledsSuite from day one.

Data Conversion

data conversionMany agencies have an existing store of data they would like to convert to their new ledsSuite software.  Zuercher Technologies has handled conversions of  hundreds  to  millions  of  records.   What  makes  Zuercher  Technologies' data conversion process unique is that all conversions are handled  before  the ledsSuite system goes live.  The project manager reviews with each agency what data is important to convert and monitors the process to ensure timely completion.  Zuercher Technologies’ data engineers write  automated  procedures  that convert the data using a proprietary data conversion tool.  They then use a specific methodology to verify that all data is accurate.  Because this is all done before the  system  goes  live,  any  questions or  challenges  along  the  way  can  be addressed and solved.  This prevents downtime  after  implementation  and streamlines the entire process.  Learn more about our Data Conversion Services.

Purchasing Assistance

Zuercher  Technologies  offers  flexible payment  options  to  help  any  agency fit a ledsSuite system into its budget.   There  are  several  different  contract and subscription options.  The system’s architecture also allows for purchase of only the modules needed now, with the option to purchase additional modules at a later time.  

All  customers  are  invited  to  take advantage  of  Zuercher  Technologies’ Grant Assistance Program.  The grant staff can help identify grants agencies can use to fund public safety software projects  and  assist  in  preparing  and submitting  application  materials.   Zuercher Technologies also has a grant resource listing on the company website or agencies can speak to a member of the grant team for more information.
